TOP THINGS YOU NEED FOR YOUR BABY SHOWER REGISTRY

You are now expecting your first baby and are thinking to yourself: What should I put on my registry?! I’ve been in your situation before so I wanted to share with you the essentials that you NEED on your registry:

Diapers:

You can never have too many diapers. One thing I learned is that if you get too many diapers of the same size and you don’t end up using those diapers, you can actually take them to the store and exchange them for another size. You’ll probably have to pay the difference in price but it shouldn’t be too much.

Wipes:

Nowadays, they make different types of wipes: Regular Wipes and Water Wipes. Before you add wipes to your registry, make sure to do your research and see which ones you’d like to try for your baby. (We ended up using the water wipes as Ariella had a small allergic reaction to the scented wipes)

Stroller:

You can get one that comes in a set with a car seat, or a stroller by itself. Before you add a stroller, do your research and consider your budget, what you will be using the stroller for and the type of lifestyle you have.

Car Seat

If you have a car or are planning to travel in a car often.

Boppy Pillow:

I wasn’t sure how useful this pillow would be but I am so glad I put it on my registry. I used this pillow so much during the first year. I used it for feeding, tummy time, and as a place for Ariella to lay down while awake. Today Ariella sometimes uses it as a pillow to prop herself up while she’s playing.

Baby Carrier:

For the days when you need your hands free to do chores, run a quick errand in the neighborhood, or simply to have your baby close to you all day. (The last one was my favorite reason for using it hehe)

Baby Bottles:

(Unless you’re planning to exclusively Breastfeed)

Feeding Chair:

Make sure you do your research when adding a chair to your registry. They have high chairs, booster style seats and standalone seats. When you pick a chair make sure you consider the amount of space you have, how long you are planning to use it, foldability, and safety.

Hygiene:

This includes: Nail File and Clippers, Nose Aspirator, Nose Spray, and Hairbrush

BathTime:

Baby Shampoo and Baby Body Wash, Washcloths, Lotion, and Hooded Towels.

Pack N Play:

We never purchased a crib due to lack of space. We ended up co-sleeping with Ariella and as she got older we used the pack and play for nap time. At some point, Ariella enjoyed sleeping in the pack and play so much that she would sleep in it during the night. Again, this was our personal choice so please read all the precautions regarding putting your baby to sleep in a Pack and Play. We also used the Pack and Play for playtime and it is also great for travel!

Waterproof Mattress Pad/Sheets:

So you and your baby can sleep comfortably without worrying about getting the sheets wet.

Breast Pump:

(If you’re planning to breastfeed)
But first! Check with your insurance to see if they cover a good pump for you. Some insurances allow you to get one pump per year.

Activity Mat:

They spend their first few months playing in one of these!

White Noise Machine:

We live in a busy neighborhood in NYC and there can be some loud nights. The white noise machine was a life saver for us and it helped Ariella sleep through the night. White noise is supposed to mimick the noises in the womb so its nice to be able to have that for your baby.

What you don’t need to put:

I didn’t put clothing’s, blankets, teething toys, pacifiers, toys, or books to this list because this is generally always given.

So there you have it gals,

Enjoy your baby shower and take lots and lots of pictures!

with love,

Andrea
